A Lincoln City footballer is being questioned in relation to allegations of theft from the club's Sincil Bank ground.

Adam Buckley, 23, is understood to have been arrested on Monday morning.

Lincolnshire police would not confirm what is alleged to have been stolen from the club.

A police spokesman said: "A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from Lincoln City Football Club.

"He has been bailed to return to a police station pending further inquiries."

Adam Buckley is the son of former Imps manager Alan Buckley.

He joined City from Grimsby Town in July, 2001, but has not been a regular first team player this season.

Lincoln City Football Club has declined to comment on the matter.
