The mother of a Leicestershire man stung to death by his own bees, has described him as "lovely".
Christopher Weaver, 56, from Coalville, was repeatedly stung when feeding the bees without wearing a protective suit.
Despite being rushed to hospital, he died on 12 April, two days after the incident.
Monica Weaver, 80, said she shared a special bond with her son and friends dating back to his school days will be attending his funeral in Plymouth.
She said: "He was my son and I can be biased but he was cheerful, always helping people, sometimes getting in trouble with his mother for it, but he was lovely.
"I never thought I would have to go to the funeral of my own son."
Mr Weaver, a Beatles fan, will have some of the band's songs played at the funeral.
