Dog rescued after lake ice plunge

Firefighters were called to rescue a dog which had fallen through ice on a frozen lake on Sunday.

Crews were called to Hicks Lodge Lake off Willesley Lane, Moira, in Leicestershire on Sunday morning.

The dog's owner had initially been on the ice trying to help the dog, but had made it back to the shore before crews arrived.

The dog was helped out of the water by firefighters and taken to a vet to be examined.
