Murder probe into house body find

Police investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a Leicestershire house have begun a murder inquiry.

Officers were called to the property in Ash Grove, Melton Mowbray, at about 0950 GMT on Monday.

A post-mortem examination has confirmed the death was suspicious. Police have not yet formally identified the victim.

A police spokeswoman said a 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The area around the property has been cordoned off to allow forensic officers to examine the scene.
