Man charged with car stab murder

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman who was found stabbed in Leicester.

Karen Brookes, 37, from the Sapcote area, was found fatally injured in her car which was parked at her workplace in Moat Way, Barwell, on Thursday.

She was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary but died later.

Kevin Sainsbury, 50, of Hinckley Road, Stoney Stanton, was remanded in custody until a hearing at Leicester Crown Court on 22 February.
