Delay warning over road project

The latest phase of a road improvement project in Leicester is likely to cause severe delays, drivers have been told.

The outbound A47 Humberstone Road from Vulcan Road to Oak Street will close for resurfacing works between 14 and 19 November.

Diversions will be in place but motorists have been advised to avoid the area at busy times.

The council said the work would improve traffic flow and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

Officials also said all major work on the route would stop between 1 December and 10 January 2010 in an effort to cut traffic disruption over the Christmas period.
