Man injured during 'axe' attack

A 28-year-old man was threatened and assaulted by a gang of men brandishing an iron bar, machete and two axes in Leicestershire.

The victim was in a van when he was approached by four men who threatened him.

The gang had pulled up behind the man in a dark-coloured car at the junction of Broughton Road and Coventry Road, Broughton Astley, on Tuesday evening.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the assault to contact them.
