Man dies after collision with HGV

A man has died after being hit by a refuse lorry in Leicestershire.

The incident happened on the B582 Desford Road in Lubbesthorpe near its junction with Forest Road just after 0700 GMT on Monday.

Jeremy Scott Bulloch, 42, of no fixed address, later died of his injuries at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The burgundy Volvo LGV had been travelling from Enderby when the collision happened. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) because Mr Bulloch had been in contact with police within 24 hours prior to the incident.

But the IPCC has referred the matter back to Leicestershire Police, who will conduct their own investigation.
