Six new arrests over street brawl

Six more arrests have been made in connection with an assault in Leicestershire which left a 19-year-old man in a critical condition.

A group of youths were involved in a fight on Granby Street, Loughborough, on 14 July where the teenager suffered serious head injuries.

Two youths aged 15 were arrested but have been released without charge.

Now six teenagers, three aged 17, one aged 18 and two aged 19, have been arrested over the incident.

Det Insp Chris Hewgill said: "We are still keen to speak to any motorists had to drive around the people involved in the fight as it spilled on to the road.

"We also understand that several people were overheard talking about the fight in a nearby café shortly after the incident."

The victim is still being treated in Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre.
