Police probe attack on woman, 79

Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a 79-year-old woman.

The victim was approached by a man at about 1430 BST on 29 June as she walked along Upper Tichborne Street in the Highfields area of Leicester.

The attacker is described as Asian, about 50, of medium build and clean-shaven with short, red hair that was combed backwards.

He ran off into Warrington Court when the woman told him she would inform the police of the assault.

Pc Sophie MacMahon from Leicestershire Police said: "This incident has left the victim feeling upset and scared to leave her house.

"We are hoping that by releasing this appeal, someone will come forward with information."
