Officers seek graffiti culprits

One of the tags found by police
Police said the graffiti had caused great distress to residents

Photographs of graffiti tags daubed in part of Leicester have been released by police in a bid to catch the culprits.

Officers said several tags were painted on vans, window shutters and post boxes in the Beaumont Leys area on Sunday.

Streets targeted included Anthony Road, Jean Drive, Avebury Avenue, Amersham Road, Anstey Lane and Buckminster Road.

The tags, which were painted in black and silver, appear to show the words "Seek", "Beeki" and "Merky". Police have appealed for witnesses.

PCSO Rob Spence said: "Those responsible have caused great distress and inconvenience to the owners of these properties.

"Vandalism can have a negative impact on the surrounding community and we hope that someone will be able to identify who these tags belong to and get in touch with any information they have."
