Murder charge after man stabbed

A 34-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a Leicester man.

Stephen Vidal, 41, was found with a stab wound to the chest near his home in Carlton Street in the early hours of Friday morning.

The victim was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he later died, officers said. A knife has been recovered, police added.

The woman is due to appear in Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a single stab wound.
