College scheme for factory site

Residents of a Leicestershire town are being invited to have their say on plans for a former factory site.

The proposals for the former Atkins factory site in Hinckley town centre will see a new campus of North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.

Most of the buildings at the site were demolished last year, ending more than 150 years of textile manufacturing.

An exhibition of the plans has been organised and people have until the end of the year to comment.

The proposals involve the construction of a new centre for creative, media and performing arts for the college and are backed by the council.

The surviving grade II listed Goddard building would be converted into a creative industries centre.
