Injunction served on travellers

An interim injunction has been served by a council on travellers developing what they hoped would be a permanent site in part of Leicestershire.

The group moved on to disused allotments on Blaby Road in Enderby at the beginning of November.

At least one resident told the BBC the work was disrupting his family's life.

Now Blaby District Council has served an injunction on the travellers, saying the group had ignored a temporary stop notice that has already been issued.

The council's environment protection manager John Wells said: "We've now sought an injunction which is a more robust mechanism for securing the site as it is and ensuring they can't carry out any further developments."
