Woman, 100, dies after collision

A 100-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Leicestershire.

The incident involved a Ford Focus and the pedestrian at the back of the Marks and Spencer store in Market Harborough on Monday morning.

Mary Chapman, who was from the town, was taken to Kettering General hospital where she later died.

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and released on police bail pending further inquiries. Officers have appealed for witnesses.
