Firefighters had to evacuate 18 people from their homes after a blaze broke out at a nearby factory in Leicester.

Crews were called to Tudor Road at about 0130 GMT where they found the roof and first floor of a disused factory well alight.

Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes as a precaution and were allowed back into their house about four hours later.

Fire officers said the cause of the blaze was being investigated.
