Smoke casualties after pub fire

Two people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a Leicestershire pub was wrecked by a fire.

Firefighters were called to the Maynard pub on Station Road in Bagworth just after midnight.

It is believed residents were alerted to the fire when the burglar alarm went off. The people treated are not thought to have been seriously hurt.

The case of the fire is being investigated but early indications are that it was an electrical fault.
