Business units may bring new jobs

A new extension to Leicester Business Centre (LBC) for up-and-coming businesses has opened.

LBC secured £855,000 worth of funding last year to develop 16 new business units within the centre which is located in Ross Walk.

Cash for the new units came from European funding, the Leicester Shire Economic Partnership and the Single Regeneration Budget.

The extension brings the number of business units at the centre to 59.

Councillor Patrick Kitterick, cabinet member for regeneration and transport at Leicester City Council, said: "These units will enable small businesses to forge a grounding for themselves in the local economy and, over time, to develop and grow.

"I am delighted to be supporting this new phase of Leicester Business Centre."
