Carlie Winkless (left) had been celebrating her 20th birthday
A mother has said she was traumatised after she and her daughter were stabbed on a night out in Leicester.
Carlie Winkless had been out celebrating her 20th birthday with her mother Billie Hewerdine and 12 friends.
One of them accidently bumped into another woman and that escalated into a fight on Belvoir Street just before midnight on Friday.
During the altercation, Ms Winkless was stabbed along with her mother and one of her friends.
She said: "I just looked down and I saw on my dress, blood was there.
"Then I think I stumbled over and I saw a bouncer, then I fell on the floor and then I felt like the blood was burning my legs. It was coming out really fast."
Kitchen knife
Both Ms Winkless and her mother needed emergency surgery after being stabbed in the stomach.
Witnesses said they saw Billie Hewerdine's attacker pull a seven inch kitchen knife from her handbag.
Near to tears, the mother of five said: "She stabbed me straight in the stomach while I was standing there. I watched her do it.
"(I'm) devastated. (It's) every mother's nightmare. It's destroyed my family's life."
Both women said the attack was totally unprovoked.
The police have been studying CCTV footage of the area but as yet, no arrests have been made.
