Women injured in street stabbing

Three women are being treated in the Leicester Royal Infirmary following a stabbing in the city.

Police were called to Belvoir Street in the city centre just before midnight. A 45-year-old and two 20-year-olds were found injured at the scene.

Two were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the other to Glenfield Hospital. Their condition is described as serious but stable.

Belvoir Street and Stamford Street have been sealed off.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident and Leicestershire police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
