Man charged with partner's murder

A 45-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his former partner.

Erica Martin, 28, was found stabbed to death at her house in Wicklow Drive, in Goodwood, Leicester, on Sunday evening after friends called police.

Alexander Gregoire, of Helmsely Road, appeared in Leicester Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with murdering the mother-of-four.

He was remanded in custody until 13 November.
