Gay rights group issues booklet

A gay rights group has unveiled a new booklet with advice for employers on tackling homophobia.

The booklet has been prepared by the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual forum for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland - known as Prism.

It gives advice on how to ensure fair treatment for workers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Prism's Sian Lambert said the booklet was a practical guide to avoiding discrimination at work.

Ms Lambert said the booklet tackled many issues including "using neutral language".

"Sometimes if you are heterosexual then you might not think about these things," she said.

She said the booklet was for everyone and not just for managers.
