English Heritage has removed a set of restored locks in Leicestershire from its at-risk register.

Foxton Locks have been repaired jointly by British Waterways and the Foxton Inclined Plane Trust.

English Heritage praised the work by the two Foxton partners at the rural site as "meticulous".

Another heritage site in the county, Snibston Colliery on Ashby Road in Leicester, has been added to the at-risk register this year.

Snibston Colliery includes buildings, structures and machinery which now forms part of the Snibston Discovery Park.

The colliery, which is in poor condition, was built between 1832 and 1834 by the engineer George Stevenson and his son Robert.

Across the East Midlands, 10 buildings have been added to the at-risk list, including the Darley Mill buildings near Derby and a gatehouse to Wollaton Park in Nottingham.
