Residents reassured over potholes

Residents in a Lincolnshire town are being promised prompt road repairs after they complained about lorries causing damage in the area.

The repairs to Gorse Lane in Grantham in Lincolnshire are being done the Highways Agency.

Resident Rosalind Cooper said heavy vehicles use the road as a "rat run" and called for a lorry ban on the road.

The county council said a weight limit will only be considered if 10% of vehicles on the road are lorries.

Lincolnshire County Council said surveys have shown that the current lorry use would not justify a ban, but they will repeat the survey later this year.
