Heavy rain sparks flood warnings
Heavy rain has brought several flood alerts for Leicestershire.

Flood watches were put in place for the rivers Soar and Sence while a flood warning for the Wreake at Thrussington has been downgraded.

A spokesman from the county's fire service said it had dealt with a high number of road accidents brought on by the bad weather.

Between 25mm and 30mm rain fell in the county on Saturday night - almost half the month's total for the county.

BBC Weather expert Phil Morrish said: "The ground is actually saturated and so you're getting a lot of rain going straight into the rivers, causing the flooding risks."
