Plans to stop nature site vandals
An action plan has been drawn up to halt anti-social behaviour at a nature reserve in Leicestershire.

Council officials said there had been several incidents at Groby Pool, particularly in the car park. They are now working to curb the problem.

A "friends" group is to be set up which will help publicise the site and improve the level of maintenance.

Signs warning visitors against anti-social behaviour will also be put up in the car park.

'Working together'

Trevor Prowse, a spokesman from Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, said everyone was working hard to improve the situation.

"With a situation like this, the key to success is getting as many partners as we can working together to achieve all we want to, so this is a site everyone can use with confidence."

All the paths within the conservation site will be resurfaced to give better access and all the grassland will be better maintained.

Five hawthorn trees in the centre of the grassland will also be removed to open the area up more.

The borough council has worked with Groby Parish Council and Leicestershire Police to come up with the action plan.
