Father denies murdering his baby
A Loughborough man appeared in court to deny murdering his baby daughter.

Wayne Robertson, 29, of Russell Street, also denied causing or allowing the death and two counts of child cruelty at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday.

Lila Robertson died in November 2006 aged 10 weeks old after suffering a brain injury.

The baby's mother, Shaffreen Khan, 24, is also charged with murder but her case was postponed for legal reasons. She is expected to enter a plea later.

Wayne Robertson was remanded in custody until his trial on 28 January at Nottingham Crown Court.

The infant died on 14 November 2006, three days after being admitted to the Leicester Royal Infirmary with a brain injury.
