Traffic problems could be solved
Congestion problems in a Leicestershire town may be resolved by the end of the month, according to the county council.

Extra lanes will be built at junctions on Norman Way in Melton Mowbray, with the aim of cutting queues.

There will be temporary road closures on Saturday and Sunday at the junction of Nottingham Road, Asfordby Road and Wilton Road.

The county council's Nick Rushton said the £1m scheme would be a short-term solution until a by-pass can be built.

He said: "The ultimate solution for Melton Mowbray, which is one we're all dedicated to delivering, is a bypass, but in the meantime we've got to deal with the roads we've got."
