Woman is charged over fatal crash
A 40-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a crash which killed a mother and daughter as they walked along a footpath in Leicester.

Jane Ann Malkin, 51, and Nichole Melissa Townsend, 24, were on the pavement at Saffron Lane when a car left the road and hit them.

A child was also slightly injured and a second child and a woman escaped unhurt during the incident on 30 January 2007.

The woman was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

She was due to appear before Leicester magistrates on Thursday.
