A man has been remanded in custody in connection with the shooting of a student at a university concert.
Aaron Waller, 21, was shot in the chest, leg and buttocks while working as a security guard at a hip-hop gig at Loughborough University on 11 March.
Jermain Winston Carty, 29, from Canary Grove in Birmingham, appeared before magistrates at Melton Mowbray charged with attempted murder.
He was also charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Mr Carty, who was arrested in the Huddersfield area on Sunday, is due to appear before Leicester Crown Court on 23 October.
The shooting took place at the university's Students' Union at a gig by US hip-hop star Pretty Ricky.
Six people suffered minor injuries in the incident, which also involved the discharging of a CS spray canister.
