Dozens of firefighters have tackled a major blaze on the Lincolnshire coast.

It broke out in the Dunes Pub in Winthorpe near Skegness at 0700 BST on Saturday and there were reports of damage to nearby amusement arcades.

Eyewitnesses reported the building was completely ablaze and the roof had collapsed inwards. Roads along the sea front were closed off.

Officers from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service said there were no reports of any injuries.

Station manager David Hopkins from the service said: "We concentrated on stopping the fire spreading to other parts of the building which included an arcade and chip shop.

"The Dunes public house is pretty much lost and the owners, who I understand are a local couple, were evacuated and we are in the damping down stages of the incident."

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
