Man, 80, attacked by city mugger
An 80-year-old man has been attacked by a mugger as he walked home in Nottingham city centre.

The man had just got off a bus on Southampton Street in St Ann's when the attacker grabbed him by the neck and pulled him to the ground.

The mugger began searching his victim's pockets but was disturbed by a passing motorist and ran off.

The man suffered bruising to his back and head. Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The offender is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, in his 30s and with a scruffy appearance.

He was wearing a grey cap and grey raincoat.
