Police are cracking down on riders of mini motos and quad bikes after receiving more than 70 complaints from one area since the beginning of April.
Officers are warning the riders in the New Parks area of Leicester to use their vehicles responsibly or risk having them confiscated.
A police spokeswoman said the noisy bikes were disturbing residents.
She pointed out that mini-motos can be ridden only on private property with the landowner's consent.
Pc Lisa Wood said: "We're having considerable problems with young people between the ages of 12 and 18 riding around the estate at great speeds, often not wearing helmets.
Riders warned
"Not only are they endangering themselves and other road users but they also ride on footpaths, which is putting pedestrians and children out playing at risk as well."
She added anyone who rides a motorbike on a road must have a licence, insurance and an MoT if needed.
Officers have issued several warnings to riders informing them that police have the power to seize a vehicle if people are caught riding irresponsibly on a subsequent occasion.
Police have received complaints about the dangerous use of mini-motos in the area of Pindar Road, Mossgate and Blissett Road.
