Stripper 'filmed in fire station'
Firefighters may face disciplinary action after a stripper was apparently filmed performing in their station.

The footage appeared to show the woman stripping off in the dormitories of Leicester's central fire station in Lancaster Place.

Fire service bosses are awaiting the results of an internal inquiry before taking action.

A Fire Brigades Union spokesman said he would not comment while the investigation was ongoing.

We are not jumping to any conclusions
Deputy chief fire officer Ian Scarrott
The film appeared on the website Youtube. Hundreds of people saw the performance over a three-day period before it was taken off the site.

Leicestershire's deputy chief fire officer Ian Scarrott said: "We have reason to believe it is our station because of names mentioned in the film but we are not jumping to any conclusions.

"It's totally inconsistent with what 99.9% of people in British fire services are about.

"We rely an awful lot on public trust and we use public money so we have to be seen to be doing the job properly."

He added: "The truth is we don't know for definite if it's our station and not other people involved."

Mr Scarrott said staff would face disciplinary measures if they were found to have taken part.

"Based on the circumstances, it's a serious matter," he said.

Leicestershire branch secretary of the Fire Brigades Union Rich Palmer said: "We will see what the investigation brings."
