Two face charges in murder case

Two people have been charged in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old man from Leicester.

Scott Cruden was found dead at a house on Beaumont Leys Lane on Thursday evening, Leicestershire Police said.

Kevin Lloyd, 32, of Brookdale Road, Leicester has been charged with murder. Samantha Welland, 24, of Beaumont Leys was charged with assisting an offender.

They were due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday. A 27-year-old man has been released.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on the man's body on Friday night and officers are still awaiting the results of further tests.
