Boaters form a floating protest
Boaters are showing their anger over government funding cuts for Leicestershire's waterways.

The protesters made their point by blocking the canal at Foxton Locks in the county on Saturday and Sunday.

They want to raise awareness of the campaign against Defra's decision to stop the cash for Leicestershire's canals and rivers.

Protest organiser David Stevenson said it was their way of showing support for British Waterways.

"We're very much behind them to get them to have the money that has been taken from them put back in place so they can continue to maintain waterways in the way that they have now over the last 20 years done," he said.
