Fresh warning to taxi passengers
People in part of Leicestershire are being warned to beware of rogue taxis operating at night.

Hinckley and Bosworth's licensing team say women in particular should be careful when out after dark.

Officials say they should always ensure they are getting into a licensed cab. They are advised to pre-book and always make sure the driver has photo ID.

Simon Bee of the licensing team said anyone using an unlicensed cab may be putting themselves at risk of crime.

"If you get into an unlicensed vehicle, you get into a vehicle with a stranger and in the past people who have used these type of vehicles have been victims of robbery, assault and even rape," he said.
