Man in court on stabbing charge
Policeman at scene of attack
Ms Larn and Mr Brightwell were attacked in their home
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman and attacking a man whose five-month-old granddaughter was killed by two Rottweilers.

Scott Walker, 26, is charged with killing Debra Larn and grievous bodily harm to her partner John Brightwell.

The couple were attacked at their home in Grassington Close, Leicester, on Sunday. Mr Brightwell's granddaughter was killed by two pet dogs on Saturday.

Mr Walker was remanded to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 14 November.

John Brightwell, 50, suffered serious stab wounds and his long-term partner Debra Larn, 47, was fatally injured in Beaumont Leys, Leicester.

Police are not linking the baby's death to Sunday's attack. They said the two incidents were a tragic coincidence and were unconnected.
