Pupils given pioneering net help
A high-tech project at a Leicestershire school could change the face of education in the county.

Lutterworth Grammar is planning to link primary and secondary schools via a joint website - allowing children to access the curriculum at home.

The school charity e-Learning Foundation is funding the project - some pupils will also get laptops.

Five schools have already signed up to the project headed by principal Eddie De Middelaer.

"Students only spend 15% of their time in school, 85% is spent at home," he said.

"Research points out that students who have access to ICT achieve about half a grade higher in their GCSE to a whole grade than students who don't have good access."
