A week-long festival marking the 40th anniversary of the Hare Krishna movement in the UK has begun in the middle of Leicester city centre.
Shoppers in Humberstonegate will be treated to vegetarian food tastings, drama, dance, and music displays.
There will also be the chance to "meet-a-monk" in one of the four tents at the festival.
Organiser Pradyumna Das said the celebration was a great opportunity to dispel some myths about Hare Krishna.
"People have the chance to meet some of our saffron, shaven-headed monks and they will be happy to answer questions and explain a little about what they do."
The festival continues until 23 July.
