Employers urged to take refugees
The first ever job fair for refugees is taking place in Leicester.

Organisers said many refugees had problems finding employment, despite having relevant skills.

The event, at the Highfields Centre, is a partnership between the Leicester Racial Equality Council and Job Seekers Plus with hundreds expected to attend.

The aim is to break down barriers both for potential employees and employers, showing both groups they can work profitably together.

A spokesman for the equality council's Refugee Project said they saw employment as an important part of integration.
