Hundreds of people across Leicestershire have signed a petition against the planned demolition of one of Leicester's ambulance stations.
The East Midlands Ambulance Service is proposing to bulldoze the station at Leicester General Hospital.
Under the plan, all the ambulances for the city would operate from a redeveloped £2.6m site at Gorse Hill.
But Zuffar Haq, chairman of the Leicester Patient's Group, said the move is a waste of taxpayers' money.
He said more than 2,500 people have signed the petition so far.
The Gorse Hill "super station" would have new offices, training and vehicle repair workshops.
Local people have until 3 February to give their views.
