Girl 'critical' after Disney ride
A teenager from Leicestershire is in a critical condition after falling ill following a ride at the Disney World theme park in Florida.

Leanne Deacon, 16, from Kibworth, lost consciousness shortly after getting off the ride on Tuesday.

She was treated by medics at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

On arrival, the teenager suddenly became unresponsive, her heart stopped and she had to be resuscitated. She had been on the Tower of Terror ride.

It is set in a haunted hotel and visitors shoot up 13 storeys in a "phantom elevator" before plummeting back to the ground at least once.

Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons said she was taken to the Celebration Hospital just after 1500 BST.

Last month, four-year-old Daudi Bamuwamye from Pennsylvania passed out on Walt Disney World's Space Mission ride and later died.

Authorities are awaiting results of an autopsy.
