Two people have been arrested over the sale of fake diamonds

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to de-fraud after the sale of fake diamonds in Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

A man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were arrested on Thursday in Leicester.

A victim contacted police after seeing the media coverage of a similar incident where a Leics couple were conned out of £29,000 at the weekend.

The arrested pair remained in police custody on Friday where they were being questioned by officers.
