Concession bus fares reintroduced
Concessionary bus fares are being reintroduced in Leicester after a change of policy by the city council.

The fare was withdrawn a year ago by the Liberal Democrat-Conservative coalition at Leicester City Council in a bid to save £200,000 a year.

The Labour group has returned the concession after taking over leadership of the council in November.

Pensioners will be able to travel at a discounted rate at certain times provided they have identification.

The Labour group says the system is effective and useful for older people.
