Transplant girl remains 'stable'
Harriet is recovering after a liver operation
Harriet is recovering after a liver operation
A 13-month-old baby girl who received a last-minute liver transplant is back in intensive care.

Harriet Stobbs, from Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire, was returned to the unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital on Wednesday.

Doctors had placed her on a general ward to see if she could breathe without a hospital ventilator. Her condition is described as stable.

She underwent a transplant on 27 January in an eight-hour operation.

Harriet has spent most of her life in hospital after being born prematurely.

She needed the liver transplant after she developed a bowel problem, which in turn caused liver failure.

Before her transplant, her parents Kath, 33, and Rob, 30, appealed to people to join the Organ Donor Register to give their daughter a chance of life.
