Drug dealer loses £145,000 assets
A convicted drug dealer from Leicester has had £145,000 worth of assets seized by police after he was sentenced to six years in prison.

Stefan Simon, 26, from Maxfield House, was arrested in December 2002 but was sentenced on Friday.

He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to selling cannabis, money laundering, mortgage fraud and concealing the proceeds of drug trafficking.

On Tuesday police revealed assets worth £145,000 had also been seized.

Officers from the force's economic crime unit applied for forfeiture of assets which included more than £50,000 of property from Mr Simon's flat in London, including a plasma television and designer furniture, and equity in the flat.

Leicestershire police say it sends a strong message that crime does not pay.
