Conditions for cyclists in Leicester are getting better - and at a faster rate than the rest of the country.
The English Regions Cycling Development Team (ERCDT) has been examining how local authorities fared both last year and this.
Some 88 improved, with Leicester named in the top 11 as Best Performers.
City councillor Dean Ramsdale said it was welcome recognition for the council's efforts to promote cycling as a safe and healthy method of transport.
