'Hooligans' surrender passports
Nottingham East Midlands Airport

Two suspected football hooligans have been stopped from travelling to Euro 2004 as part of a police operation at Nottingham East Midlands Airport.

The men - from Grimsby in Lincolnshire - appeared at Loughborough Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Magistrates ordered them to hand over their passports and the case was adjourned until the tournament ends.

Leicestershire Police are conducting a major operation at the airport to stop troublemakers travelling to Portugal.

A Nottingham man with a history of football violence was also blocked from travelling to the tournament from Luton Airport on Thursday.
