The family of a boy killed by a train have urged children to keep away from the railway tracks.
A verdict of misadventure was recorded on Tuesday by a jury into the death of Tyler Deacon, 15, from Leics, who was thrown in the air by a 90mph train.
His parents said: "Stay safe and please don't put your families through the hurt and pain we are suffering."
They urged people to watch a video about rail safety made after the death of their son who played on the line.
Transport police said the accident was one of seven trespassing or stone-throwing incidents on the section of railway line, near Gipsy Lane, Humberstone, in 12 months.
Allan Spence, of the Health and Safety Executive, told the jury the fencing that Tyler had climbed over to reach the track had a satisfactory barrier.
But the inquest heard that Network Rail has since upgraded fencing around that part of the railway line.
'Not playgrounds'
After the 10-member jury at Leicester Town Hall delivered its verdict, the family released a statement urging parents and children to take care.
They also urged schools to show pupils a video made by Tyler's friends after last year's tragedy, called Tyler 4 Ever, ahead of the October half-term break.
The statement said: "We, as a family, have gone through a lot since losing Tyler and are grieving.
"Our lives have changed and we would like to urge all parents with children to be aware of what their children are up to when out and about.
"We need to get the message across to these youngsters: Stay away from the tracks, they are not playgrounds.
"Stay safe and please don't put your families through the hurt and pain we are suffering. Please stay safe."
